Mrs. Crum’s roots in Collin County, Texas reach back to the 1880s. Her ancestors were from Celina, Tennessee, and they were among some of the original settlors who founded Celina, Texas, where her grandfather still farms the original homestead. She was born and raised in Celina and graduated from Celina High School in 2002. While in high school she was involved in various extracurricular activities (through both her school and church) including cheerleading, mission work and student council. She won a state championship as a member of the women’s cross country team.
In 2006, Mrs. Crum earned her Bachelor of Arts in Government from The University of Texas at Austin. While in Austin, she worked for Collin County State Representative Jodie Laubenberg. She also volunteered at the Austin Children’s Shelter and participated in mission work in Mexico with the student ministry. During this same time period, Mrs. Crum also received her Business Foundations Certification from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.
She received her J.D. from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, in 2009, and earned her Master of Laws in Taxation, L.L.M., from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, in 2010. During law school she was a member of the Board of Advocates where she received awards in various competitions. She was also Secretary of the Tax and Estate Planning Law Organization, and a certified tax preparer for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program that advised low income clients in preparing tax returns.
Mrs. Crum speaks to various groups and audiences on the importance of estate planning and asset protection. She is involved in a variety of professional organizations and has served on the Board of Directors for the Celina, Texas Chamber of Commerce. She also is active in Fidelis Inter Se, which is a women’s organization involved in multiple charitable activities within the community.
Mrs. Crum met her husband while in law school. They have one daughter and now live in her hometown of Celina. They are active members of the community and the First Baptist Church of Celina. Mrs. Crum participates in the women’s ministry, volunteers as a small group leader for the church youth group and with the I-Serve program. In 2012, she and her husband took a pilgrimage trip to Israel with their church.
